Don't pee on my Sligh grandfather clock

I bought a Sligh grandfather clock from a co-worker about 15 years ago.

The truth is that my daughter and I had a terrier who was a complete heathen and would lift his leg on all furniture in the house.

My daughter squealed when she saw the clock and said, "Mommy, look, Petey can't pee on this". Tacky but true.

The clock is hung on the wall about a foot off the ground. Not only was it safe from our horrid little dog, the clock was and is beautiful and the sound of the chimes is wonderful.

I don't know how to find the model number or how to tell if it is a Grandfather clock or called something else.

Can you clue me in?

Hi Deborah

Of course I won't be able to tell you what sort of clock yours is, without having seen it.

But judging by the fact that you have hung it on the wall makes me think that it is not a grandfather clock as these are at least 6 to 8 feet tall. And you cannot hang these on the wall as they are much too heavy.

I can only suggest that you post pictures on this site. Then we can all enjoy your beautiful clock. Appart from that have a look inside the clock to see if there are any labels or plaques which could tell you something more.
