Is This Sligh Grandfather Clock Worth It?

I have an opportunity to buy a Sligh grandfather clock but I don't know much about them.

What stood out the most was the crystal ball hanging at the bottom of the pendulum.

The store owner told me either "the board" needs to be replaced or the cord.

Is this worth pursuing?
