I have recently been given a Colonial grandfather clock, serial # 7718056 and need a manual.


Where would I find one?

Also, what is the string with small brass rings that hangs from the movement and the purpose for it?

THE STRINGS TURN THE CHIMES ON AND OFF. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE CHIMES PULL THE LEFT SIDE DOWN (FACING THE CLOCK)

When they are hooked to the nails, the chimes will no strike.
