Were it the key used on my Daneker grandfather clock?

I bought my Daneker grandfather clock at an auction. Is there an online owners manual to help me set up the clock.

I've got the clock set up and running, but the chimes and hour strike are not working.

Also there is a key taped to the back-- there are no holes in the face of the clock.

Were it the key used?
