Where to place the weights for my Herschede clock

by Dorothy
(New Castle, Delaware)

We just got my Aunt Helen's Herschede grandfather clock from my sister.

Before she moved it to her house it worked but never worked at her house.

We know the weights are not in their correct place.

On the bottoms are CT, TT, and ST. Does anyone know the order they should be placed in the clock?

According to the number I found on it, I believe it was made in 1947.

weight placement...

Yes, CT should be on the far right as you look at the clock. I think that the tt and st actually weigh the same and so wouldn't really matter. The CT is the lightest of the three.

I believe the TT is for Time - in the center
CT is the chime - on the right
ST is the strike - on the left
